About the Opportunity

Staybrite Stainless Fabricators, a leading provider of bespoke stainless-steel products, is seeking an Apprentice Fabricator to join our team in Christchurch. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual who is eager to learn and grow in the field of stainless-steel fabrication.


Responsibilities:

  • Perform cutting welding and fabrication tasks on thin gauge stainless-steel products, including benching, bowls, frames, and components.
  • Cutting Folding & welding processes to ensure proper heat control and prevent warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of materials.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of workpieces for defects and use straight edges or templates to verify conformity with specifications.
  • Report any nonconforming work or materials to management promptly.
  • Layout, position, align, and securely fasten parts and assemblies in preparation for the fabrication process.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, completing housekeeping duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Strong interest in and willingness to learn the art of stainless-steel fabrication.
  • Understanding of welding techniques and familiarity with thin gauge stainless steel.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to report any issues or concerns to management.
  • Physical stamina to perform manual tasks and operate fabrication equipment.
  • Willingness to adhere to safety protocols and maintain a safe work environment.


About You

Mōu 

6 – 12 months

The ideal applicant will have;

  • 6 - 12 months prior experience.
  • Understanding of welding techniques and familiarity with thin gauge stainless steel.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to report any issues or concerns to management.
  • Physical stamina to perform manual tasks and operate fabrication equipment.
  • Willingness to adhere to safety protocols and maintain a safe work environment.
