Our timber machinists work with solid timber to produce our high end range (Mahogany, Oak, Native Rimu, Macrocarpa, Pine etc.). Four sider, Planner sander, CNC Router, are some of our newest equipment you could learn to operate. We also have a large, manufactured board range, and a team of assemblers and machinists to suit. CNC router programming is another area you can be trained in.

About the Opportunity

Mō Te Huarahi  

We are looking for someone to join our team of craftsmen in our fast-growing factory, manufacturing high quality caskets for the Funeral Industry throughout New Zealand. No prior experience needed, on the job training provided.

You will start on assembling the caskets and be trained by qualified team members who have  had many years in the industry. Then move to preparing the solid caskets or training in the use of the CNC router machine. The aim to keep the job varied with training all aspects of production.

About You          


For this entry level apprentice opportunity you will need to be someone who takes pride in their work, is keen to develop new skills and has a “can do” mindset.  Is receptive to being taught but also keen to offer suggestions and creative ideas.

You will also need –

  • An interest in woodwork
  • Able to take instructions and keen to learn
  • Good time management skills 
  • To be reliable and loyal
  • NCEA Level 2 in English and Maths
  • A friendly manner and willing to assist other team members as required  
  • Be able to work independently or with others
  • A good level of physical fitness as there is some lifting required
  • Full Drivers Licence preferably or at least a Restricted Licence to begin with and be eligible to take your Full Licence as some driving of a work vehicle may be required on occasion



Ngā Hāora  

Hours will be discussed with you at interview stage with Windsor Industries.  Standard Hours are 7.30am to 4.00pm,Monday to Friday.
