Precision Gears are a busy well equipped precision machine workshop, specializing in the manufacture of industrial gears and refurbishing gearboxes for a large variety of industries. Mō Te Huarahi
Due to continued growth, Precision Gears are looking for another apprentice to join their close-knit friendly team in Rotorua. There is a wide variety of skills and machines to learn here.
First duties and training will be learning the slotting machines(cutting keyways, splines etc.) and small manual lathes. There will also be basic fitting work on small gearboxes including cleaning.

Hours will be discussed with you at interview stage. Standard hours are 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday with some overtime available.
Te Tohu
New Zealand Certificate in Mechanical Engineering(Trade) (Level4) with strands in Fitting and Machining

Graduates of the Fitting and Machining strand will also be able to:
Build and install complex machines where the use of fitting, machining, assembly, and precision alignment skills are required.
Read and interpret complex drawings and schematics to identify and remedy faults, and to contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement.
