About the Opportunity

Mō Te Huarahi  

We are now seeking a motivated and proactive person, who is interested in joining our high-speed manufacturing environment as an Apprentice Maintenance Fitter.  Opportunities like these don’t come up often, to join and learn from an experienced Engineering team, where you will learn various engineering practices and techniques, trouble shooting and problem-solving that is necessary in a FCG manufacturing environment.

You will be part of the Maintenance Engineering team that is responsible for the day to day maintenance and reliability of the production machinery.

Also, ongoing improvements and problem-solving to ensure the equipment is at optimal output. This includes maintaining product quality standards, machine availability to meet production schedules and machine performance efficiencies.

About You          


You must have a passion for Engineering, be a “go getter” who is eager to learn and contribute to the team,  be focussed on quality and safety, possess good communication skills and be willing to get your hands dirty.  

We are looking for an individual who can work with a team, is respectful, hard working, has a sense of humour, a good grasp of common sense and a genuine interest incompleting an apprenticeship.  

In addition you will need –

  • A pre-trade would be useful but not essential.  Some other work experience would also be beneficial
  • NCEA Level 2in English and Maths
  • Can do attitude
  • Good level of physical fitness – this apprenticeship is hands on
  • Reliable with good timekeeping
  • Keen to learn and able to follow instructions
  • Driving Licence not required for the role but reliable transport to get to work on time is



Ngā Hāora  

Hours of work will be discussed with you at interview stage.  Standard Hours are - Monday to Friday 7.30am – 3.30pm.  There is overtime available from time to time.



Te Tohu  

New Zealand Certificate in Mechanical Engineering(Trade) (Level4) with strands in Fitting and Machining, and Maintenance Engineering
