About the Opportunity

Mō Te Huarahi  

Co Sell are now keen to expand their training to an additional Refrigeration and Air Conditioning apprentice and are looking for a candidate who is positive and keen to learn and continuously improve for their Auckland branch.

Co Sell install and service all types of commercial refrigeration cabinets, condensing units and racks utilising traditional and natural refrigerants. This role will be predominately off site installation work with around 10% of work in the workshop.  You will therefore need a Full drivers licence or be eligible to take your Full licence in the next 3-6months. You will mostly be working in a team of two with plenty of support from management.

About You          


You will need to be positive and keen to learn and continuously improve for this role and team.  Good timekeeping and customer focus to keep companies interests in mind are also key.

There is some travel required, after an initial training period, so you must be willing to travel on occasion.

You will also need -

  • A pre-trade in RAC is preferred or some relevant work experience in RAC
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • To be reliable and solutions focused
  • NCEA Level 2 in English and Maths
  • To be H&S aware
  • To be happy working at heights
  • Ownership of tasks and attention to detail
  • To be self-motivated
  • To be honest, positive and have a great work ethic
  • Strong communication skills
  • Hold a Full NZ Driver's Licence, or be eligible to take your Full Licence in 3-6 months from starting


Ngā Hāora  

Hours will be confirmed at interview with Co Sell. In general, the standard hours are 7.30am to 4pm Monday to Friday.  There is some overtime available.


Te Tohu  

New Zealand Qualification in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (Trade)(Level 4)

Graduates of this qualification will be able to:

  • Plan, troubleshoot, recondition, and test when maintaining and servicing a range of RAC plant and equipment.
  • Apply engineering trade skills and knowledge to plan, install, and test a range of RAC equipment in accordance with industry and statutory standards.
  • Commission basic installations, and work with specialists to commission a full range of complex RAC plant and equipment.
  • Apply knowledge of RAC system design and applications to daily tasks, and to meet job and organisation requirements.
  • Apply knowledge of the use and management of refrigerants in the RAC industry to safely meet all relevant environmental, legislation, and regulation requirements, when recovering refrigerant into a cylinder, or charging a refrigeration system.
  • Carry out electrical work associated with the installation, maintenance, servicing and commissioning of refrigeration plant and equipment.
  • Apply knowledge of the relevant Health and Safety legislation and workplace safety culture to work safely and responsibly in a commercial environment.
  • Self-manage on-going learning, and maintain the professional standards required for the RAC industry.
