Graduate Profile:

On successful completion of this micro-credential, ākonga/learners will be able to identify and measure log attributes to ensure log specifications are met in a domestic and export log scaling operation, as a log scaler within the forestry industry. They will be self-aware, self-managing and have awareness of, and respect for their work environment.

Ākonga/learners will have knowledge of

• log scaling methods and procedures used for scaling domestic and export logs.
• attributes of domestic and export log grades.

Ākonga/learners will be skilled in:

• scaling logs for the domestic and export market.
• carrying out data collection for the purpose of auditing export logs.

Ākonga/learners will be able to progress towards supervision and operations management roles.
