Graduates of this qualification will be able to:
- Apply an understanding of relevant legislation and industry codes and standards to ensure safe and ethical operation in the locksmithing industry.
- Assess customer needs and specify, supply and service the appropriate key systems.
- Apply trade skills and knowledge to produce keys using the various methods available, install mechanical and electronic hardware, and maintain the tools and equipment used.
- Apply knowledge to specify and safely install, commission, and service safes.
- Safely service and repair a range of mechanical and electronic automotive locking systems.
- Perform diagnostics, bypass techniques, repairs, and servicing on locking mechanisms.
- Provide appropriate customer service to clients when specifying, installing, servicing, repairing and bypassing locking systems.
