Qualification detail

Graduates of this qualification will be able to:

• Apply hazard and risk assessment procedures to day to day work to meet basic health and safety requirements within the furniture industry
• Apply knowledge and techniques relating to hand tool use and maintenance and furniture construction to make furniture.

Graduates of the Furniture Finishing strand will also be able to:

• Prepare and apply coatings to furniture surfaces to meet customer specifications.
