About this qualification

Graduates of this qualification will be able to:

  • Apply knowledge of hazard and risk management, quality requirements, and customer service to operate in a furniture manufacturing environment.
  • Implement specific aspects of operational management that impact on the profitability, process improvement, or productivity of a furniture making business.

Graduates of the Cabinetmaking strand will also be able to:

  • Cost out cabinetmaking jobs.
  • Assemble a range of furniture components.
  • Set and operate machinery and equipment using advanced technical skills to manufacture components to meet customer and production requirements.
