Graduates of this qualification will be able to:
- Work safely as a member of a team in a plastics processing environment.
- Apply knowledge of materials and production processes to produce plastics products.
- Prepare for production, and run and monitor machinery to produce plastic products.
- Identify, resolve, and report on routine processing problems.
Graduates of the Plastics Engineering strand will also be able to:
- Prepare machinery for plastics processing.
- Use problem-solving techniques to troubleshoot plastics processing production and quality issues, and implement actions to resolve issues
- Carry out routine service and maintenance requirements in accordance with machinery specifications.- Participate in plastics processing trials.
