Graduates of this qualification will be able to:
- Apply knowledge of employee responsibilities, training needs and workplace risks to work safely and collaboratively in a team within a solid wood manufacturing environment.
- Apply knowledge of the physical characteristics of wood to ensure timber product quality.
Graduates of the Timber Drying and Treatment strand will also to:
- Measure moisture content in wood and identify methods of drying wood or wood preservation in a solid wood manufacturing environment.
- Apply knowledge of sawmilling products and processes relevant to timber drying and treatment.
