This employer has a modern and advanced company within the New Zealand Hydraulics industry. Located in the South Island of New Zealand with offices in Timaru and Christchurch. An opportunity exists at our Timaru Branch for a Hydraulic Service Technician to join our highly capable and experienced service team.

About the Opportunity

Receive training to perform the following:

- You will be undertaking all types of hydraulic service work, fault finding and repairs, both on site and in our workshop
- The work is very diverse with a large range of industries and manufacturers serviced by our Timaru workshop, including farming, earthmoving, shipping, power generation, meat processing etc
- The position involves being part of a 24 hour on call roster
- Service/repair/test and fit hydraulic components such as hoses, pumps, motors, valves and rams
- Perform new installation work on a variety of machinery
- Ensure all work complies with Health & Safety and Safe Work Practices.

About You

Qualifications & Requirements:

- Previous experience in hydraulics or a mechanical/engineering background is preferred
- Ability to operate machinery, tools, and measuring devices accurately
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work under time restrictions
- Self-motivated and able to work both independently and as part of a team
- Full, clean NZ Driver’s License and medically/physically fit
- Flexibility to work overtime and participate in the after-hours on-call roster

Hours

Minimum 40 hours full time with some overtime as required.
