As an apprentice, you'll be part of our experienced team, getting involved in a wide range of tasks from day one. You'll work alongside skilled engineers, learning the ropes and contributing to real-world projects. This is your chance to join a high-performing, close-knit team and train towards playing a key role in delivering world-class engineering solutions.
You'll learn:
- The art of machining by operating a range of workshop equipment, including both manual CNC machines including lathes, mills, and drills, to create components for real-world applications
- To build practical skills by fabricating and assembling mechanical parts for new projects and repairs
- To understand the fundamentals of casting, including pattern making and mold preparation, to produce components from molten metal
- To understand the importance of precision by interpreting detailed engineering drawings and using measuring instruments to ensure accuracy
- To support the maintenance and upkeep of our machinery, learning how to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues
- To Develop a strong understanding of material properties and their behaviour during the machining process
- To follow all health and safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
We are looking for someone who has:
- Completed NCEA Level 2, or working towards Level 2 in English, Maths and Science
- A strong desire to learn and develop new skills
- An excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A logical approach to problem-solving
- A great work ethic and reliable.
