Competenz is dedicated to supporting employers in the forestry sector by offering training solutions designed to enhance workforce skills that meet the needs of your business.
Investing in upskilling your teams on-the-job with the technical skills they need can help future-proof your business with minimal down-time, while increasing productivity and quality.
The continued rate of technological advances in many industries has revealed the immediate need for a skilled workforce that can keep pace. On-the-job training provides you with immediate access to skills development that address these gaps without taking your crew away from the tools. Employees without formal qualifications can benefit from a training structure to gain the qualifications they need.
Traineeships are short training programmes of usually 9-18 months’ duration that combine practical and technical training to give your people a formal qualification. They are a great way to up-skill and cross-skill your teams.
Apprenticeships combine theoretical and on-the-job training resulting in a level 4 qualification. They are available in some forestry disciplines, combining two qualifications into a programme. Apprentices dedicate a longer-term commitment to the industry.
Micro-credentials provide bite-sized learning that gets your workforce upskilled in specific operational tasks required by industry. They are nationally recognised and registered with NZQA.
A Competenz account manager will work with you to understand your business and the skills you need, now and in the future. When a training agreement is signed, a formal three-party arrangement is initiated between Competenz, the employer and the learner to ensure learning goals are achieved. We provide training and assessment materials and regular workplace visits, as well as arrange assessments.
