Interested in joining our Strategic Advisory Board?
Competenz is seeking expressions of interest to join our Strategic Advisory Board (SAB). The SAB is a strategic body that will provide valuable guidance and industry representation to our Senior Leadership Team as we transition towards the proposed new vocational education training system.
The SAB will serve as the sector’s voice, advocating for industry interests and providing strategic guidance and advice to determine the new vocational education landscape.
Who we are looking for
We are inviting expressions of interest from individuals with:
- Deep understanding of the vocational education training system and commitment towards Competenz industries.
- Representation from diverse communities, including Māori and Pasifika, to ensure inclusive and balanced perspectives.
- A commitment to driving excellence and innovation in New Zealand’s vocational education system.
- Strong leadership and communication skills to collaborate effectively within a diverse advisory group.
- Demonstrable governance experience and understanding of key players within the vocational education system.
Key responsibilities
As a member of the SAB, you will:
- Provide strategic advice and feedback on the proposed vocational education system.
- Advocate for industry needs and help shape policies that influence the proposed new vocational education system.
- Attend meetings in Auckland or virtually, to engage in discussions and contribute to decisions that determine the future of Competenz.
- Collaborate with fellow members to deliver insights that will guide the future direction of vocational education in Competenz, for New Zealand.
Term and commitment
Members are expected to dedicate time for six-weekly meetings, preparation and review of materials. The term of service for SAB members will be approximately 18 months, dependent on government decisions and transition timelines. Travel expenses will be covered, as well as meeting attendance.
